Frequently Asked Questions

Paint Protection Film (PPF)

Is PPF better than coatings?

Both PPF and Coatings have their uses for each individual’s wants and needs.

PPF is a super thick Sacrificial Layer that can wristand Heavy Rock Chips and Deep Scratches. At any point in time if the PPF is heavily damaged, you are able to remove and reapply the PPF.

Graphene / Ceramic Coatings act as a hardened layer onto the paint surface, Allowing super ease of maintance of the Vehicle, Giving it a awesome gloss and minimises Light Swirls and Scratches.

Ultimately it depends on the owner’s major concerns and their budgets.

What is partial PPF?

A very popular option is to get a Front End PPF (Bonnet, Front Bar, Both Fenders) which are high impact areas for debris damage, and get the rest of the vehicle coated!

This is a very cost effective option compared to a Full PPF coverage which costs thousands!

How is PPF installed?

PPF can be installed by Templates (Machine Cut with Software) Or Bulk Installed (Hand Cut).

Both are viable options depending on the Vehicle and Customer’s Choice, but Template Cut will generally be Cheaper (Saving Material) and Faster to Apply however downsides will be that not all Templates will be exact fits to the panel, whereas Bulk Installing will guarantee complete coverage.

Interior Trims can only be Template Cut as we would not bring a razor blade into the interior of the vehicle.

Ceramic / Graphene Coatings

Do all Coatings include Paint Corrections?

All of our Coatings include a SINGLE STAGE Paint Correction, and even “brand new” vehicles come with paint defects from factory. We also offer TWO or MultiStage Paint Corrections for older and more heavily defected vehicles, quoted upon free inspection.

What if I dont want a Paint Correction done to my Vehicle Prior to a Ceramic or Graphene Coating?

Yes it can be done at a more affordable price but we will not recommend it. We will not offer warranty for the product durability as the surface is not prepared properly. A Paint correction prior to a coating will only ADD Gloss to the paint to make your vehicle EXTRA Glossy!

Should I get a Ceramic or Graphene Self Healing Coating?

They are both amazing products and will both protect your paint to a certain degree. The Kraken Graphene Self Healing Coating will self repair a degree of swirls and light scratches whereas the Gtechniq Ceramic Coating will not.

For you to decide which one is more suitable for you, factors to consider would be the colour and amount of usage the vehicle will take. We are also able to give you an honest opinion catered to your needs without bias at 0489 074 888 or contact us through our form!
